MouseEffectMouse events, only for live effects
The app observes global mouse movement, left-button press and release, left-button dragging and right-button presses. It derives click and double-click effects from these events. Event position, timing and click count are used in memory for immediate local rendering. The app does not save pointer histories or upload these events.
What the app does not monitor
MouseEffect does not globally monitor keyboard input, take screenshots, read screen contents, or replace or intercept the system pointer. Its transparent effect windows let mouse input pass through. Normal typing in the app’s own text fields is only used for the text you choose to enter.
Settings, presets and imported files
Settings, including the selected preset, intensity and motion preference, are stored locally with UserDefaults. Saved custom presets and imported particle assets are stored in the app’s local sandbox Application Support directory. Importing an image copies it to local app storage; it is not uploaded to us. Temporary drafts are not saved as presets and last for the current app session. Imported files may remain locally until cleaned up by the app.
Purchases are handled by Apple
StoreKit and the App Store handle product information, payment, transaction verification and restoration. The app reads the verified entitlement to unlock custom saving and activation. We do not operate a payment server or receive your card details. Apple processes purchase information under its own privacy policy.
No accounts, advertising or analytics
The app and website have no user accounts, advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not sell personal information, profile visitors or track them across sites. The website does not set analytics cookies or use local storage for tracking, and has no information submission forms.
Website hosting
GitHub Pages hosts this static website. When you request a page, GitHub may process basic hosting and security logs, including your IP address and technical request information, under GitHub’s privacy statement. This hosting activity is separate from the app’s local mouse rendering. The website loads its fonts and assets without third-party analytics.
Email support
If you email 494763134@qq.com, we receive your address and any information or attachments you voluntarily provide. We use them only to respond to and resolve your support request. Email providers also process delivery data under their own policies. Do not send payment credentials or other unnecessary sensitive information.
Retention, deletion and your choices
Local app data stays on your Mac until you delete it or the app removes unused assets. You can delete custom presets in the app. Removing the app alone may leave its sandbox data; ask support if you need help removing local data. You can pause effects at any time. We retain support correspondence only as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable legal obligations. Email us to request access, correction or deletion of support information; rights depend on applicable law. Apple and GitHub control their own records.
Security and children
Local processing limits data transfer, but no storage or email system is completely secure. The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. A parent or guardian can contact us about information submitted through support.
